Kristen Allison, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders and the director of the Speech Motor Impairment & Learning (SMILe) Lab at Northeastern University. Dr. Allison is a certified speech-language pathologist. She received her PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Allison’s research interests focus on improving assessment and treatment of motor speech disorders in children with cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopmental disorders, with the goal of maximizing functional communication and participation outcome for children.
