The CP Research Network provides a variety of engagement opportunities to members of the community. In 2024, clinician investigators and community members gathered in Columbus OH at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
The Cerebral Palsy Research Network is building a bench of community partners to engage in research and care improvement. Community members accepted into this program will be given opportunities to be integrated into studies and care improvement initiatives that are active in the network. Most if not all of the work will be conducted virtually. Self guided training will be offered and participants will be compensated for their time. We don’t expect people to have any training in research but to have experience in life with CP that will be invaluable to the research process as part of a study team.
This page enables community members to apply to engage in our research. To apply, you must either be a person with cerebral palsy (CP) or a caregiver of a person with CP. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with a response with in three weeks. We have a limited number of places for community members as you will be compensated for your time to learn about our research and engage in our study groups. If you are accepted, we will give you a position on our Community Partner Engagement panel and invite you to join one of our study groups when there is a fit for your interests and a study team. We will ask you to take some online training to prepare you to contribute your lived experience to guide and partner in our study teams. After some time participating with us, you may be invited to join our Community Action Committee which consists of adults with CP, teens with CP and parents of children (either adult or pediatric) with CP. This group is invited more deeply into the inner workings of the CP Research Network including reviewing concepts and attending our annual meeting as our guest.
If you have not watched our “Shaping Health in Cerebral Palsy” webinar, we strongly recommend it before applying.
You must be a member of MyCP to apply. If you have not joined, please do so first at https://cprn.org/joinmycp.
You must be logged in to MyCP to view and submit the application.
