Adults with cerebral palsy are at higher risk of chronic disease than individuals without CP. Some of the ways that doctors look for these medical problems don’t work well for people with CP. Hand grip is a simple method to assess overall body strength, and has been shown to predict risk of disease. It has not been studied in a clinic setting for adults with CP. Our study found grip strength to be feasible, and to have a relationship to body composition in adults with CP. In this webinar, Dr. Hurvitz will talk about using grip strength in the clinic setting and how it can help give us important information about health and wellness in adults with CP.
