What We Heard—and What Comes Next for CP Research
Over the past year, the CP Research Network has been listening carefully to the cerebral palsy stakeholders about our strategic priorities for the next five years—and now we’re ready to share what we heard.
“CPRN works toward inclusion as a core competency, not just a token check-the-box or PowerPoint slide, but as an integral part of information sharing, planning, prioritization, and research design and implementation,” said June Kailes, a community member and disability policy consultant. Another participant, K Pleasant who runs Cerebral Palsy Positive, said “It was reassuring for my needs to be considered by CPRN leadership.”
On Wednesday, January 21 at 8:00 pm ET, we invite you to join us for an interactive webinar where we’ll walk through the CP Research Network’s draft strategic priorities for 2026–2030. This session is designed to share back what emerged from our listening process and outline what comes next for CP research, care, and education.
In 2025, community members, clinicians, advisors, partners, and CP Research Network Board members participated in strategic planning conversations about the Network’s strengths, gaps, and future opportunities. Since then, our team has carefully synthesized that input and translated it into a focused draft five-year strategy.
This webinar is an opportunity to:
- Understand the themes we heard across stakeholder groups
- See how that feedback shaped the CP Research Network’s proposed strategic initiatives
- Learn how the CP Research Network plans to focus its work over the next five years
CP Research Network CEO and co-founder Paul Gross will open the webinar with a brief overview of the input-gathering process and how community feedback informed the draft five-year strategy. We will then share a high-level overview of the proposed strategic plan.

CP Research Network’s CEO and co-founder Paul Gross will be joined by network leaders including Drs Amy Bailes, Patrick McPhee and Joyce Trost.
Participants will next break into small Zoom discussion groups, led by CPRN leaders including Joyce Trost, PT, PhD, Patrick McPhee, PhD and Amy Bailes, PT, PhD. Each group will take a deeper dive into one of the CP Research Network’s four proposed strategic initiatives, discussing goals, priorities, what success should look like and how should we make it happen together. When the breakout sessions conclude, each group will share key takeaways with the full audience. Feedback from this webinar will directly inform the final strategic plan, which will be presented for approval at the next CP Research Network Board of Directors meeting.
No preparation is required. However, if you’d like additional context, you may:
- Review the CP Research Network’s completed 2021-2025 Strategic Plan,
- or watch the introductory recording from our August strategic planning webinar.
If you’re interested in attending, please sign up using the form below. MyCP Webinar subscribers will receive the webinar link by email on Friday. A recording of the meeting will be placed on our YouTube channel within 24 hours.
