Richard “Rick” Smith

Mr. Richard Smith is the Treasurer of the Board and a non profit professional who runs the Bay Area Outreach Program for people with disabilities.
Since 2012 Rick Smith has served as the Executive Director of Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program (BORP) a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the quality of life for individuals with physical disabilities through the provision of adaptive sports and recreation. Rick has spent over 40 years in the field of nonprofit management and organizational development with experience that includes numerous senior management and consulting roles with nonprofit organizations and grantmakers including ten years as the Executive Director of CompassPoint and five years as the CEO of Support Centers of America. From 1998 – 2012, as an independent consultant, Rick focused his practice on transition management and served as the Interim CEO for 20 nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at U.C. Berkeley and Golden Gate University. He has served on many local and national boards of directors; currently Rick serves as the Assistant Treasurer of the Piedmont Education Foundation and as the President of the Ed Roberts Campus.
